1h 24m
This masterclass introduces core features and functionality of the KnowWhereGraph project (https://knowwheregraph.org/), an open, cross-domain knowledge graph and associated tool-set that aims to provide area briefings within seconds. KnowWhereGraph links over 30 data layers on social and environmental themes with numerous types of geographic region identifiers -- ZIP codes, administrative boundaries, climate zones, etc. -- to enable place-based retrieval of information. Questions such as "What is here?". "What happened here before?" and "How does this compare to other regions or previous events?" can be swiftly answered using techniques that will be introduced in this tutorial. Use cases are inspired by scenarios in humanitarian relief and food supply chain disruptions following a disaster.
