Mastering maplib - a groundbreaking RDF framework for Python
KGC 2026

maplib aims to be the go-to framework for handling and constructing RDF graphs in Python. It offers mapping with Reasonable Ontology Templates (OTTR), data frames, visual graph exploration, RDF store for queries, reasoning, validation, and even more! In other words, full support of semantic technologies for building and managing top notch knowledge graphs.
maplib holds the world's fastest SHACL engine, as proven in a recent benchmark of a range of SHACL engines.
maplib is implemented in Rust upon Polars, Oxigraph and Apache Arrow, and available as Python bindings (Python framework).
The masterclass will cover following topics:
• Getting familiar with maplib
• Short introduction to Reasonable Ontology Templates (OTTR)
• Build knowledge graphs with maplib in Python
• Query and validate knowledge graphs with maplib
• Graph explorer
• A tour in maplibs documentation and its open source code repository
As attendee at this masterclass, you will gain tools for your knowledge graph toolbox on how to build knowledge graphs using maplib and its surrounding technologies. You are welcome to follow along from your own laptop.
Prerequesites: knowledge of RDF (and a little bit of Python) will come in handy.
