LLMs can simulate clinical reasoning, but they can't capture the nuanced, individualized judgment that defines effective autism intervention. This talk presents a neural-symbolic approach: an ontology and knowledge graph that encode the deep domain logic of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) - contextual variability, assessment hierarchies, and clinical reasoning patterns. We show how semantic modeling transforms messy real-world workflows into structured, AI-ready knowledge - enabling personalized goal selection that neither humans nor machines could achieve alone. Attendees will learn practical techniques for bridging domain expertise and AI systems through thoughtful knowledge engineering.
