Wikidata is the largest collaboratively curated and open knowledge graph of the Wikimedia Movement. It contains general purpose data about the world, from the number of inhabitants of a country to who won the last Oscars to symptoms of a particular illness. It's data is used in technology you use every day like digital personal assistants, social science research, museum collection management, Wikipedia and so much more. Over the last 10 years Wikidata has democratized knowledge graphs and made them accessible to a large number of people. Today a community of over 20.000 people are collecting and curating a vast amount of structured data for anyone to use and build upon.
In this masterclass you will learn what you can do with Wikidata's data based on examples from across different sectors. We will take a close look at the different ways how you can access Wikidata's data for your application. And last but not least you will get a ton of tips and tricks for how to get the most out of Wikidata.
